Nedap Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI)
The Gallagher system-enabled variant of Nedap’s long-range automatic vehicle identification (AVI) system enables driver and vehicle ID and access control to be managed and monitored via the Gallagher Command Centre.
Features
• Integration of Gallagher personnel access cards (125 kHz or MIFARE)
• Read range up to 10 metres (33 feet)
• Object speed up to 200 km/h (125 mph)
• Adjustable read range shape and distance
Driver-based AVI tags offer fast, convenient and secure vehicle access for authorised drivers ensuring that a vehicle is unable to leave or access a secured area without an authorised driver. A driver-based vehicle AVI tag has a Nedap Prox or Smartcard Booster and a Gallagher personnel access card. The Booster is an in-vehicle card reader mounted behind the windshield that amplifies the reading range of the inserted access card up to 10 metres. This means that Gallagher cards can activate a barrier or open a gate just before a vehicle arrives, the Booster device acting as the lock and the Gallagher access card as the key.
As the card is required for building access, the removal of the ID is necessary. Once the driver leaves the vehicle, only the Booster remains inside which alone cannot activate a barrier or open a gate. The vehicle ID is embedded within the Prox or Smartcard Booster allowing the driver to be immediately matched to the vehicle within the Gallagher system. Vehicle-only or driver-only tags/boosters are also available. All vehicle/driver access events can be viewed from within the Gallagher Command Centre user interface for easy review and monitoring.
