Gallagher security systems are scalable and configurable for any scenario – from simple and discrete to comprehensive and enterprise wide. Gallagher’s offering includes standalone non-lethal perimeter electric fencing, no-feel sensor technologies, through to centrally configured and controlled access, intruder alarms, perimeter security and compliance management. This native combination is believed to be a world first. Gallagher’s business-connected security integration platform automatically executes business policy by enforcing compliance with regulation; it resides on an organisation’s IT network and stores information about cardholders, the site and system activity and delivers security from the perimeter to the hub.
Gallagher Code of Practice
All Gallagher accredited dealers agree to commit to design, install and maintain Gallagher security electric fence systems in accordance with the Gallagher Code of Practice and Minimum Quality Standards. These Gallagher standards exceed the requirements of all national and international standards for the safety and application of electric fence systems.
System Scalability and Flexibility
The Gallagher system is scalable from zero doors, such as a perimeter security only solution, to full global, multi-site systems with centralised command and control. Our scalable ‘per door’ pricing (access and alarms capability are core), means that customers need only purchase what they require.

All combinations of Gallagher’s Command Centre software feature and product offering are available for any size sites. The system provides the ability to integrate with Wiegand access control readers or devices, minimising hardware redundancy and unnecessary cost.

IT Compatibility
The database options are Microsoft SQL 2005 Standard or Express and SQL 2008 Standard or Express depending on the system requirements.
Renowned for its data integrity and performance, Microsoft SQL is a commonly specified database used globally in a range of applications. It is easy to integrate and share selected data held in Gallagher’s Command Centre with other systems using the SQL Server database.
Gallagher is a partner to Microsoft and a member of OPC Foundation.

Distributed Intelligence and Data Storage
If a site experiences network communication problems, distributed intelligence allows for continued operation of access control and alarms management. The relevant fields of the cardholder database, alarm configuration and security parameters are downloaded to the Controllers resulting in instant access and alarm control decisions.
All events and alarms are date and time-stamped before being sent to the Command Centre.
Each Controller 3000 is capable of buffering events should communications fail. These events are then automatically sent to the Command Centre when communications are re-established.
True peer-to-peer communications between Controllers facilitates system flexibility, redundancy and protection against malicious network attacks.
REDUNDANT ALARM DIALLING
The Gallagher Dialler facilitates communications between the Gallagher Command Centre Server and Controllers that, once configured, operates independently of the Command Centre.
The Gallagher system facilitates off-site monitoring by transmitting alarms to a remote monitoring station using industry standard Contact ID data format. A monitoring station is informed immediately if there is a breach of security, enabling the dispatch of security guards to re-secure your business.
The Gallagher Dialler, connecting to the Gallagher Controller 6000 and 3000, is the hardware device that performs the Contact ID data transmission. An on-board connection is provided for the Gallagher Dialler 5000GL.
REDUNDANT ALARM CONTROL
The Gallagher Remote Arming Terminal supports multiple controllers that, once configured, operate independently of the Gallagher Command Centre.
Integrity of Data Protection
Encrypted Communications
Gallagher’s system communications offers 128 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption of data communicated over the network (although higher levels are available). This includes communications between the Gallagher Command Centre server and Gallagher Controllers and peer-to-peer Controller communications.
IP-based, encrypted network communications between the Gallagher Command Centre software and Gallagher field Controllers (6000, 3000, 5000GL) uses an industry-leading level of encryption of up to 256 bit AES symmetric encryption and RSA-1024 bit authentication.
Gallagher Field Controllers (6000, 3000 and 5000GL)
Gallagher Controllers make all the access decisions in the field – a distributed intelligence that enables uninterrupted system operation even when the server is offline.
Features and Benefits:
• Fully network (TCP/IP) capable
• True peer-to-peer communications between Controllers facilitate system flexibility, redundancy and protection against malicious network attacks
• Controllers communicate with each other via peer-to-peer communications over a LAN/WAN using TCP/IP for monitoring, back-up and control, a significant feature that provides extensive flexibility and efficient system configuration

Access Control Readers
Access card reading is protected by Cardax IV data format with only licensed individuals able to create cards for sites. Issue levels are also supported.
Features and Benefits:
• Custom site keys are supported when used with MIFARE Plus and MIFARE DESFire EV1 cards
• ‘Heartbeat’ monitoring ensures reader status can be monitored in real time and status reports can be generated. An alarm is raised at the Command Centre workstation if the reader stops communicating with the field Controller
• MIFARE Enhanced Security (MES) options prevent and detect cloning attempts
• Gallagher readers use the proven Cardax IV reader communications delivering enhanced reader security through encryption and monitoring of the data between the reader and Controller.
Gallagher’s facility code management delivers unique facility code issue worldwide.
With Cardax IV proprietary format, enhanced data protection is achieved via:
• Encoding of issue level and region code in addition to facility code and card number, providing unique card data across global card databases
• Eight bit error detection protocol, ensuring that the reader correctly identifies the card being presented.
Supported Card Technologies
Gallagher readers support multiple card technologies including 125 kHz, MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Plus and MIFARE DESFire EV1.
MIFARE DESFire EV1 format implements the strong AES 128 bit data encryption standard to ensure data security. Custom site keys are supported when used with MIFARE Plus and MIFARE DESFire EV1 cards. MIFARE Enhanced Security (MES) options are available to counter card-cloning attempts. Find out more about which card and reader technologies are right for your site.
